The West Vancouver Parks Department is now accepting applications for a Permanent Full-Time Golf Attendant at Ambleside Par 3 and Gleneagles Golf Courses. The primary duties in this position will be comprised of a variety of tasks including: golf grounds maintenance, mowing, line trimming, aeration, and operation of corresponding equipment including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles and trap rakes.

The work for this position is considered manual work, requiring effort and stamina. The successful candidates may also be required to assist staff in the Parks Department with: park construction; sports fields and grass areas; horticulture; garbage collection; and other related duties as operationally required.


Preferred Applicants will have:


  • Detailed knowledge concerning safe use of landscape maintenance equipment specific to turf and golf course operations;
  • Detailed knowledge of agronomic practices for turf and golf courses;
  • Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of manual outdoor work in all types of weather;
  • An interest in Parks and Golf operations and a desire to learn;
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of BC; and
  • A valid pesticide license.

Experience working in turf and golf grounds maintenance would be considered an asset. During the assessment process, successful candidates will be required to submit an acceptable Driver’s Abstract from ICBC.


The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials. The successful candidate will also be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of hire.

Hours of Work:


40 hours per week ( Standard hours of work are 6:00 am to 2:00 pm; however, hours of work may vary depending on work assignments and operational requirements. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends. )

Start Date targeted the week of February 27th, 2023.


Starting Rate of Pay:


$27.45 per hour
