Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity at the RCMP detachment for a Crime Analyst II. This position performs complex, specialized research work that involves the application of research techniques to support criminal investigative activities, operational programs, and crime reduction strategies. You will provide statistical information and advice on crime analysis and research to the RCMP members, City’s Leadership Team, and outside agencies. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Technology in Forensic Investigation, Crime and Intelligence Analysis from British Columbia Institute of Technology;

OR

Completion of a post-secondary degree in social sciences, criminal justice or criminology and a minimum of one year’s experience within the last five years in crime and statistical analysis and research.

  • Proficient in intermediate Word and intermediate Excel as demonstrated through testing. A minimum 70% pass rate required
  • Minimum of three years’ experience within the last five years working in a police municipal support environment using information and intelligence database systems such as, but not limited to, ROSS, CPIC, PRIME, JUSTIN, ArcGIS, and open-source systems.
  • Shortlisted applicants must successfully pass a National Test for Intelligence Analysts administered by the RCMP Intelligence Standards and Program Development (ISPD) Section in order to proceed to the interview stage.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Top Secret Level Security Clearance. Please note, if you are unable to obtain or maintain a Clearance, your employment with the City will be terminated.

Rotational Weeks Week one:
Monday to Friday

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
