Description
The Coordinator of Digital Initiatives is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the digital services of the North Perth Public Library for staff and patrons of all ages and skills. Coordinator of Digital Initiatives markets library services in various formats and maintains the library’s website and social media presence. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships and meaningful partnerships with organizations in the community. This position also assists on the service desk, including evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate should possess:
Demonstrated competency in information technology, including maintenance of websites, troubleshooting devices, and social media marketing
Demonstrated knowledge of public library service
Demonstrated knowledge of Library Board and Municipal policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The ability to work well independently and with others in a team setting.
Strong working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related legislation and World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
Excellent customer service orientation and skills; ability to display good judgment when providing service.
Strong interpersonal communication skills; communicates effectively with a variety of audiences and individuals from diverse backgrounds
Strong presentation skills, including the ability to present to large groups
Strong written communication skills including demonstrated experience generating marketing materials.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
Computer literate with knowledge of relevant computer programs.
Familiarity with Canva, Horizon considered an asset.
Valid Driver’s License

Education/Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a related field, MLIS or marketing related advanced degree an asset
APPL or PLL program completion an asset
2 - 3 years previous library, IT and/or marketing experience.
First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

The hourly wage for this position is $34.62 - $42.50 per hour. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a comprehensive benefits and pension plan. A detailed summary of the position responsibilities, qualifications and a complete job description are attached.
