The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues. The services are provided through five branches: Financial Operations, Financial Analysis and Decision Support, Regional Grants and Decision Support, Audit and Investigations, and Logistics Strategy. These branches provide financial advice and assist programs to meet their strategic goals and operational plans, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and central agency directives.

The Third Party Liability (TPL) work unit is responsible for the recovery of health care costs paid by the Province of British Columbia on behalf of injured British Columbia residents in situations where a third party is liable for the injuries.These recoveries will be made from the Canadian Private Insurance Companies, Out-of-Country Insurers, Insurance Corporation of BC as well as Self-Insured Entities.

The Third Party Liability Clerk is responsible for creating electronic files, entering data and drafting correspondences for various lawyers, insurers, etc.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in clerical/administrative support or a customer service environment.
  • 1 year experience completing data entry and ensuring accuracy.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working with third party liability claims.
  • Experience utilizing various computer applications in a workplace environment. For example: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook) for word processing, electronic calendaring, and email.
