About Our Opportunity


As the Workplace Initiatives Program Support and Assessment Officer, You will work collaboratively with the Sector Initiatives and Workplace Education and Training teams to achieve daily goals and ensure effective program delivery including developing strong relationships with business, industry sectors and associations, to understand how LSI programming can best fit with their labour market needs.


This position reports to the Manager, Workplace Education and Training in the Workplace Initiatives Division, Labour, Skills and Immigration (LSI).

Primary Accountabilities


Responsibilities include:


  • Information database management;
  • Using assessment criteria to evaluate and recommend projects
  • Information gathering to ensure evidence-based decision making;
  • Project budget administration;
  • Project monitoring and evaluation; and
  • Working collaboratively with other program areas within LSI to maximize program effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience


This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a university degree with three (3) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You must have skills in proposal assessment and recommendation, especially related to assessment of business training needs and requirements. In addition, you possess the following: experience in project evaluation; experience working in partnership with employers and business associations; strong decision-making skills; experience in developing and presenting written recommendations; skills in database management and project budget management; and excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and collaboratively in a team environment.

You must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to understand and explain programs policies & procedures. Knowledge of and experience with general office software is required (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, Internet etc.).Experience using LaMPSS and developing processes/procedures would be considered an asset.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade: PR 06 - PR 10

Salary Range: $1,859.58 - $2,666.69 Bi-Weekly
