Your future role on our team

Your role will be to work with other team members to ensure source sampling campaigns run smoothly and are technically sound. Every day, you’ll plan, coordinate, monitor and validate stack sampling methods and results from specialized firms, while ensuring your ongoing role as a client advisor. You’ll be part of our specialized team that has been assisting industrial clients for several years in demonstrating environmental compliance as well as in understanding and optimizing their processes.

You’ll also participate in the air quality components of permit applications as well as any other tasks within the air quality team, including quantifying the release of contaminants into the atmosphere, establishing greenhouse gas (GHG) emission balances, using atmospheric dispersion models to determine how plants contribute to ambient air quality and preparing technical reports. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary BBA teams: geomatics, visual simulation, industrial ventilation, air purification and energy efficiency.

  • Prepare tenders for stack sampling.
  • Review and comment on submissions, sampling specifications and stack and ambient air sampling reports.
  • Participate in sampling campaigns as a supervisor and client representative.
  • Research and confirm information needed to carry out air dispersion modelling.
  • Perform environment compliance audits, primarily at industrial facilities.
  • Participate in air quality studies that include air emission inventories and atmospheric dispersion modelling of contaminants using recognized models (CALPUFF, AERMOD software).
  • Participate in GHG emission inventories and reporting to the NPRI, the IQEA and other associations.
  • Assess various emission control and purification options.
  • Apply for permits and approval certificates.
  • Analyze results and prepare comprehensive reports.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial or environmental engineering
  • Knowledge of Booklet 4: Sampling of Atmospheric Emissions from Stationary Sources
  • Ability to work on site about 10% to 25% of the time
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: experience in the heavy industry sector (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
