This position can be located in one of the following Ministry Office locations, subject to operational requirements and space availability at time of offer: Cranbrook, Fort St. John, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Nelson, Penticton, Prince George, Smithers, Surrey, Victoria, Williams Lake.

The Climate Action Secretariat (CAS), as a division of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, is responsible for leading and coordinating research, analysis, development and implementation of programs, strategies, policies, and legislation, that enable the mitigation of, and adaptation to, climate change, while supporting competitiveness and the development of a sustainable economy.

CAS works to achieve provincial climate change goals through engagement and collaboration with Indigenous peoples, the provincial public sector, other orders of government, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, professional and industry associations and business and industry. As well, CAS works directly with industrial operators and verification bodies to ensure compliance under the Greenhouse Gas Industrial Reporting and Control Act and associated Regulations.

This position provides project management coordination for projects throughout the project management life-cycle (i.e. initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out) and administers all aspects of contracted services including preparing, tendering, and awarding contracts.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.

  • Minimum two years experience providing project management support services.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, MS Project, One Note).

  • Preference may be given to those with the completion of course work in project management.
