The Water Information Technician provides specialized technical support for the water allocation program. Operating with considerable independence, this position reviews applications for water licences, amendments to licences, abandonments and cancellations under the Water Sustainability Act. The Water Information Technician maintains the accuracy and integrity of provincial databases (e.g., ELicensing and GWells) using a variety of tools and applications.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Post-secondary education in a related area, OR
  • An equivalent combination of experience, education and training may be considered.
  • Experience in the interpretation of legislation and policy working with legal documents.
  • Experience managing the accuracy and integrity of data bases and using a variety of digital tools

Preference may be given for one or all of the following:
  • Natural resource management education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with ARCGIS and/or iMap.
