Reporting to the Manager of Solid Waste, the Equipment Wash Attendant supports the Solid Waste Section by cleaning and washing waste collection vehicles on a scheduled basis, with emphasis to the washing of the vehicles involved in the organics collection as well as the daily cleaning of the wash bay. In addition, you may be required to perform other duties in the Solid Waste and Fleet Sections, as required.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant, you must possess:

  • a secondary school graduation diploma;
  • a valid Province of Ontario Class "DZ" Driver's License, held in good standing, and qualify for the Town’s Safe Driver Program criteria.

  • experience operating vehicles over 11,000 kg., G.V.W., including tandem axle vehicles;

  • the ability to operate various tools and equipment;

  • be physically fit and capable of climbing up into the vehicles;

  • the ability to perform the work under varying weather conditions and tolerate offensive odours; and

  • capable of performing strenuous physical labour with heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
