The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, North Property Management requires a Building Operator for duties in Saskatoon . As a member of a service-oriented team, you will be responsible for providing customer comfort and service by ensuring a safe environment for our customers and clients.

The successful candidate will respond to client inquiries and ensure facilities and equipment are safe and in good operating readiness. You will also perform routine maintenance and custodial duties, including all minor maintenance, as well as operate/maintain manual and heavy-duty powered grounds equipment; climb ladders, lift and/or carry heavy objects. You will perform security procedures, maintain stock and supplies, and ensure facility and equipment is safe and meets operating standards. You will also be responsible for the supervision of other Ministry staff in the building.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, prioritize work, perform maintenance procedures on buildings and grounds, understand and correctly apply cleaning and maintenance standards, safely operate and maintain manual and powered cleaning and grounds equipment.

To be successful in this position, you must have a valid Fireman's Certification and Refrigeration Operators Certificate or a 5th Class Engineers Certification as well as several years of related experience. Through this experience, you will have comprehensive knowledge of building heating, cooling and ventilation systems, DDC control systems, extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, thorough working knowledge of the WHMIS program and superior interpersonal/public relations skills. Experience working with computer software applications including Microsoft (Outlook and Word) and Archibus is required as well as a valid driver's licence.
