In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

We are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Specialist - System Administration. If you are on top of your profession and possess the following key skills, we invite you to apply to our opening.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the development and testing team to ensure timely delivery of business deliverables.
  • Setup, deploy and maintain scalable, high availability systems
  • Automate and build up scalable systems/environment using latest technologies.
  • Automate security hardening in testing, deployment and production setup, based on industrial best practices.
  • Writing scripts/programs for service monitoring and health check of systems
  • Day-to-day monitoring, backup, deployment and maintenance of systems
  • Create runbooks and other documentation.
  • MUST be available for weekend shift work and on call support work in order to serve IBM’s client.
  • Role Location - Bedford, Nova Scotia



Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Minimum 10+ years experience with hands-on delivery and consulting in a client-facing environment, including customer crit-sit support, and strong communication skills for management and client interaction.
  • Mid to senior level system administration knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, such as managing clustered systems.
  • Good understanding of networking standards and technologies, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing, firewall rules, load balancers, etc.
  • Mid to senior level experience supporting .NET applications on IIS and SQL.
  • Experience Installing, Configuring, Integrating and Maintaining IBM WebSphere MQ and IBM Integration Buss (IBM App Connect Enterprise) on Windows platforms.
  • Experience in MQ configurations such as queues, listener ports, channels, etc.
  • Experience in building environments from scratch and performing production deployments.
  • Experience hardening the security of internet-facing applications.
  • Intermediate knowledge on PowerShell.
  • Experience with on premise system monitoring tool(s).

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • IBM Workload Scheduler.
  • IBM Content Manager on Demand.
  • Adobe Experience Manager - Forms.
  • MS Visual Studio / LINQPad.
  • Experience with Azure cloud.
  • Experience configuring and managing Ansible and/or Terraform.
  • ServiceNow.
