New Job Accountant In Alberta

A small full cycle Accounting/Bookkeeping & Tax preparation company in NE Calgary is currently looking for a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will be an independent thinker, willing to take on new challenges, will learn quickly and be flexible.

Essential qualifications:

· Must have 2-5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting practice

· Must have extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE), Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), 9200 Compilation Engagements, CSRS 4200 and Compilation Engagements

· Must have experience with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, Profile, Sage and QuickBooks considered an asset

. Must have experience in Corporate Tax

· Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities

· Proficient computer skills

· Proactive initiative and thinking, integrity, precision execution and emphasis on value-focused service

Role and Responsibilities

· Conduct compilation and tax engagements

· Prepare financial statements and corresponding notes

· Compute taxes owed and prepare personal and corporate tax returns

· Prepare other compliance filings (T3, T4, T5, T5013, T5018, GST, etc.)

· Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency

· Develop and maintain trusted client relationships including responding to client questions and inquiries

· Contribute to development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
