THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Mess Manager, the Mess Supervisor assists with the planning, organising, and supervising of bar services and mess operations, including mess entertainment, military, and private functions. They assist with the set up and take down of functions, as required. They organize, supervise, and provide administrative support to mess operations and mess and military functions. They supervise and train employees. They prepare employee work schedules and verify and enter hours into the applicable payroll program. They assist in the preparation of employee performance evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND several years of experience in the food and beverage service, or a related hospitality field

AND

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (Province)
Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Province)
Valid Driver’s Licence (Province), an asset

Experience

Of hospitality services, practices, and theories
Of mixed drink preparations
Of general business practices and theories
Of loss prevention

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential or French Essential / Bilingual an asset
