ARLO
) requires a
permanent, full-time
Project Leader. Reporting to the Director, Applied Research Liaison Office, the position’s primary responsibilities are twofold.

RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Enable research and innovation partnerships with industry, entrepreneurs, government and non-profits on behalf of BCIT. This includes but is not limited to:
- working closely with faculty and researchers to understand their applied research activities and identify opportunities to connect with industry partners
- establishing an on-going service oriented relationship with potential industry and community project partners
- facilitating collaborative projects between BCIT and external clients.
- Promote, manage and implement technology transfer and commercialization activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- educating BCIT faculty, staff and student on aspects of intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialization through presentations, workshops, one on one meetings, etc.
- ensuring compliance with BCIT IP policy and procedures by encouraging disclosure of inventions, and administering IP application processes
- helping faculty, researchers, staff and students commercialize viable technologies through technology transfer activities with industry, including technology market assessments.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
:
- Minimum six years’ experience in a relevant business, industry and/or research setting.
- Masters in a technical field preferred – preference given to applicants with degrees in engineering, life sciences, or business
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in technology transfer and commercialization of innovations resulting from research activity.
- Proven ability and skill to assist with the writing of successful applied research (private industry-based) proposals.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative marketing skills
- High level of energy and motivation
All project leaders require an ability to work effectively in a collegial manner within a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Compliance with Institute policies regarding confidentiality and ownership of intellectual property is essential.

Salary Range
$56,845 to $99,571 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
