The Environmental, Social and Governance Secretariat (ESGS) coordinates the strategic and operational engagement activities of the Government of Alberta (GoA) in support of Alberta industries that are being assessed using Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.


Your role as the ESG Performance Advisor will support the activities of the Strategy and Performance team by providing research, analysis and advice around ESG performance that will shape and inform decisions around the Government of Alberta's approach and communication around ESG performance. You will play a critical role in the ESG Secretariat's content strategy through the analysis of ESG performance data, and the development of compelling fact-based knowledge products and content.


You will operate within a complex environment, involve engagement with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and have a broad scope of responsibilities ranging from administration and coordination to project management and drafting of knowledge products (i.e. briefings, reports, stories, case studies, etc.).

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Social Science, Journalism, Communications, or related degree plus 4 years of progressively responsible related experience.



Equivalencies will be considered based on 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education



Assets:
  • Experience working with or knowledge of ESG non-financial impact measurement methodologies or sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical abilities, and an ability to summarize and synthesize complex materials, identify key issues and develop responses and solutions.
  • Strong research, analysis and project management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to build relationships with a mix of stakeholders and lead cross-Ministry coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas in understandable terms to a variety of audiences.

Salary

$2,683.10 to $3,507.06 bi-weekly ($70,028 to $91,534/yearly)

Notes

Hours of Work:

36.25 per week (Monday to Friday 8:15AM to 4:30PM – 7.25 hours per day).


The successful candidates will be evaluated on a combination of experience and education.


Final Candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
