The Role
Reporting to the Legal Services Supervisor, the Legal Administrator prepares agreements and other documents relating to Mosaic’s legal needs, which includes the management of Mosaic’s land base, with a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing documents from precedents with respect to various types of contractual agreements, including land use, acquisition, disposition and development and corporate commercial matters;
  • Liaising with all internal and external parties involved with the agreement, transaction or interest in land, including preparation of correspondence;
  • Conducting LTSA and BC Online searches;
  • Assisting with the yearly property tax file, including data entry, reporting internally and processing tax payments;
  • Ensuring compliance with obligations under contracts including insurance, environmental requirements, and payment of rent;
  • Ensuring documents, reports, research notes and correspondence are retained on the appropriate file to ensure a central bank of knowledge; and
  • Administrative tasks as required relating to job responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a legal assistant or contract administrator is an asset;
  • Good working knowledge of real estate terminology, contracts and forms;
  • Understanding of BC land title system;
  • Good working skills with applicable online databases – BC Online, LTSA, etc.;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Displays extraordinary customer service in a professional, mature and courteous manner;
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team;
  • Highly dependable and adaptable with great work ethic; and
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flexibility to learn internal computer systems;
