The Government of Saskatchewan, Ministry of Environment has a full-time, permanent position opening in the Financial and Property Management Branch as Warehouse Coordinator.
This position is responsible for handling the day to day warehouse operations for the ministry. Duties include shipping, receiving, and handling packages and boxes. You will read and understand the disposal process for government and how to handle those inquiries, ensuring items are posted in a timely manner. Inventory logs of items retained in the warehouse are prepared to ensure proper counts are maintained. The position manages the storing and distribution of office furniture, manuals, and small promotional items within the ministry.
You will provide information on stored items and arrange distribution as needed. You will assist with site inspections for storage buildings or offices in parts of Southern Saskatchewan. You will be required to order additional signs, forms, etc. when stock is low. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry heavy articles or use a forklift, repeatedly on a daily basis. Required training includes a completed OH&S certificate with basic knowledge, and Forklift Certification training.
This position also provides back-up for SaskTel Coordination, handling SaskTel requests for the ministry.
The successful candidate will be flexible to successfully adapt to changing work environments, processes, and workloads. They must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be a team player to cooperatively discover and implement solutions to challenges that arise. The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are typically obtained by completion of a high school diploma and/or related experience. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in addition to general computer knowledge is an asset.
