POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting into the Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation (or Director and President), the Pharmacy Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy & Clinics. The Pharmacy Navigator will also be responsible for certain aspects as it pertains to patient/care partner enrolment for the provision of reimbursement, scheduling, and drug ordering.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer the phone and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Assist and Support with the remote dispensing locations and satellite sites.
  • Assist in general housekeeping and administrative duties; and
  • Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of information flow and management of business processes
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services (Scheduling, IT), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions
  • Liaise with the scheduling, clinics, patient support programs and pharmacy divisions
  • Maintain accurate data in pharmacy files and computer drives

· Maintain pharmacy records

· Maintain workflow through effective task prioritization and teamwork

  • Manage reimbursement navigation for patients by coordinating relationships with Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy and Non- Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy programs, patients, pharmacy team, partners, and physicians
  • Monthly billing for services and co-ordination of invoices, working with accounting for completed services related to non- Rx Connect Specialty Pharmacy programs
  • Order, receive and maintain inventory of medications.
  • Play a significant role in planning, including an initiative geared toward operational and performance excellence
  • Prepare and process billings, claims, disbursements and related documents;
  • Process and attain SA’s or reimbursement coverage for patients (e.g. manage communication with public and private providers)
  • Review invoices or other documentation
  • Screen telephone calls
  • The Pharmacy Assistant will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time.

· Verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)

  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian drug reimbursement landscape
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations
  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail a priority
  • Bilingualism, French/English is an asset

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and reimbursement/ services industry required
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Previous experience in cold-chain distribution an asset
  • Previous experience with biological and/or cytotoxic medication and sterile preparation an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
