The Government of Yukon is comprised of several departments and corporations, each delivering programs and services mandated by Yukon’s laws.

The Registry Process

This competition will be used to consider candidates for pre-certification in Government of Yukon, within the Human Resource Consultant Series (HRC I & II). Applicants who pre-certify will be placed on one HRC Candidate Registry, the level and salary below are then determined once hired into a specific department:

HRCI Salary: $67,026 - $77,607 per annum
HRCII Salary: $73,295 - $84,937 per annum

Certified candidates will be placed on the HRC Series registry for a minimum of one year. The registry will be used to fill permanent, term, and auxiliary on-call Human Resource Consultant positions throughout the Government of Yukon.

Human Resource Consultants (HRCs) are professional positions performing a diverse range of human resource management services. Through the building and fostering of relationships, and strategic and analytical thinking, HRC positions advise on and carry out responsibilities in a wide range of functions. Depending on certification level, tasks range from job description development, recruitment and selection, labour relations, disability management and job & organizational design.

In these key roles, ideal candidates will promote a culture of leadership, continuous learning, self-reflection and professionalism, as well as sound strategic human resource management practices to provide creative and forward thinking suggestions to attract talent on behalf of the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Commitment to continuous learning, that demonstrates development of analytical and/or strategic thinking, in an HR context (Please demonstrate in your resume how you have developed yourself personally and professionally, including any formal education completed including the date of completion and the duration of the program or course).
  • Experience providing:
    • facilitation and expertise of a standardized process where you are required to uphold transparency, defensibility and equity, and
    • professional advice to management, including developing recommendations and implementing integrated HR solutions and strategies.

  • Experience providing solution oriented services to multiple client and stakeholder groups.

Candidates with a combination of learning and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated knowledge, skills and personal suitability
Candidates will be assessed based on the job profiles for these positions: HRCI profile and HRCII profile.

Depending on the position, job requirements or conditions of employment may include, but are not limited to:
