Department Information
The mandate of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is to promote and support the sustainable use and development of natural resources, and to protect, conserve, and enhance the NWT environment for the social and economic benefit of all NWT residents.
Job Information
The position is located in Inuvik and reports to the Materials Management Officer. Functional direction will be received from Forest Management Division's Material Manager. The Regional Duty Officer will provide day-to-day direction. It is the only seasonal warehouse person position in the Inuvik Region. The incumbent may be required to travel away from home for periods of up to two weeks. The incumbent will be required to work extended hours and weekends.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of forest fire fighting and forest management equipment.
- The incumbent is required to have Certification in Dangerous Goods Transportation, WHMIS
- The incumbent should also have a broad knowledge of procurement and inventory management.
- Computer skills including word processing, database and spreadsheets
Typically attained by:
Minimum grade 10 education is required, with good analytical and communication skills are essential in order to carry on a good relationship with departments and outside agencies.
