As Manager, you will report to the Director, and will lead, guide, and support a team of professionals in the Services and Supports Unit which is part of the Strategic Services Division. Through planning, evaluation, and implementation, this unit is accountable for supporting the delivery of both operational and transactional services. We count on your leadership expertise and operational experience to enhance and support departmental and government priorities. This role works collaboratively across government and with various stakeholders and sectors to build innovative strategies.


Primary Accountabilities


We count on your leadership and expertise to:


  • Provide program and system management support for case management software and transactional services programs.
  • Lead a team of professionals and ensure priorities and objectives are met and aligned across the department.
  • Be a forward thinker, keeping aware of new trends and technologies and how they can enhance operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other department units, government departments and stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure best strategies for delivery.
  • Identify, recommend, improve, and implement processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Develop and monitor service standards, practices and appropriate evaluation mechanisms that lead to continuous improvement of functions and services.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of policies and legislation to stakeholders.
  • Provide direction to Ministerial requests.
  • Develop and/or deliver budget plans.

You will represent the Department on committees with stakeholders. You will also ensure the effective management of human and financial resources by setting and evaluating performance, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace, and demonstrating leadership competencies.


Qualifications and Experience


This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a university degree from a recognized school in the field of business or information management plus several years of related management experience. Experience and/or education in Information Technology would be considered an asset.


As the next Operations and Supports Manager you have:


  • A strong technical background with experience in a variety of computer software including system administration.
  • Experience with case management systems.
  • Experience working within an operational environment.
  • Experience with deadlines and processing transactional services and applications.

A few of your key qualities also include being highly organized with strong time management skills. Also, strong skillsets in leadership, relationship building, and team collaboration. You are also:

Working Conditions


This role is based in a comfortable office environment, and you may be working at your computer for extended periods of time. You may be required to travel to worksite locations.


Your normal workweek is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. This role does entail a high volume of work which may, at times, require longer than normal working hours. May involve evenings and weekends.


Additional Information


This is a Term opportunity with an anticipated end date of Jan 4, 2024. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: EC 12

Salary Range: $3,458.20 - $4,322.75 Bi-Weekly
