Role

The Service Alberta Heath Contact Centre (SAHCC) service responds to over 300,000 calls and 6000 emails per year from Albertans requiring information, problem resolution, eligibility determinations, referrals and other assistance qualifying for and accessing Alberta Health Care (AHC) services. We are currently looking for 2 Permanent and 2 Temporary positions (Up to 12 months)

Reporting to the Team Lead, the main responsibilities of the Information Officer is to provide full and accurate information services to callers via the telephone regarding all aspects of health legislation and related programs in a courteous and timely manner.

The incumbent will be responsible for :

  • To provide Albertans who contact SAHCC with AHC program information and assistance in timely, courteous and professional manner.
  • To utilize the Information Services Via Electronic Mail and make sure written responses are generated to provide the public with information that are received and replied to through electronic mail while ensuring written responses are accurate, complete and correct in grammatical structure and form.
  • Log client’s call in the Consume Affairs Tracking System (CATS) for statistical and reporting purposes.
  • To ensure Health Care accounts are updated and accurate.
  • To recommend alternative course of action including transferring calls if the call does not pertain to SAHCC.
  • To assist Team Lead with training colleagues, provide suggestions relating to changes to policies, procedures and existing protocol where appropriate.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and 3 years related experience in customer service dealing is required.

Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

The incumbent is required to have:

  • Strong keyboarding skills and experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) is required.
  • Knowledge of Acts, Legislation and Agreement including but not limited to FOIP, Health Information Act, and Health Care Insurance Act etc.
  • 6 months contact centre experience is required.

The following is considered as Assets:

  • Knowledge with CXone and ServiceNow computer programs.

Salary

$1,861.71 to $2,279.37 bi-weekly: annually $48,590.63 - $59,491.56
