Assessment accommodation

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics;
OR
Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

  • Note: Applications will be accepted from candidates who have not yet completed the required education above. Please know that you must meet this essential qualification by the end of August 2022 to be considered.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
  • Experience working a range of accounting functions and processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable or other relevant areas in Finance;
  • Experience in providing finance advice and guidance to Managers*;
  • Experience in analyzing financial data;
  • Experience using financial management software and reporting tools i.e. Oracle or SAP.

  • Manager is defined as have supervised 2 employees or more.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Education asset:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group;
OR
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).

  • Note: Eligibility means the candidate must have completed all the course requirements of the program as well as the work experience required by the association.

Degree equivalency
