The Opportunity:

Emera Inc. is hiring for the position of, Co-op Student, Talent Acquisition for the Summer 2022 term (September 6, 2022 – December 16, 2022) with our Corporate Human Resources team.

This 15-week work term will enable you to gain an appreciation of the full recruitment cycle, the importance of inclusive processes, and providing a superb customer experience.

What you’ll do:

As the successful candidate you will play a significant role in the recruitment process with the Corporate HR team.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating interviews and creating interview guides;
  • Coordinating background checks and references;
  • Creating, uploading and ensuring organization of HR documents to our shared document drives;
  • Represent Emera at (virtual) campus recruitment events as a Student Ambassador; and
  • Assist with several ad-hoc Talent Acquisition and HR related projects as required.

Who you are:

As the ideal candidate you will be entering your first or second Co-op term with a focus on HR.

You recognize yourself in the following skill set:

  • Must have effective working skills of MS Office; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • You possess exceptional written and verbal interpersonal skills;
  • You are curious in nature, customer focused and work well in a team-environment;
  • You bring strong attention to detail and are tech-savvy; and
  • You are pro-active and have an ability to multitask.
