Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

Supervise all geological work (core logging, mapping, sample collection, QAQC, Surface Exploration, channel sampling) to ensure CIM guidelines for best practice are followed for exploration

Assist in identifying all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to exploration activities and ensure compliance

Required project reporting. Report generation and management.

Provide technical and technological advice and guidance to exploration staff.

Complete geological core logging, sampling and photography

Use of GIS and 3D Modeling Software, data entry and use of digital databases

Participate in field mapping, geophysical, and geochemical sampling programs, diamond drilling and trenching programs.

Work with project team to generate exploration targets.

Plan, and coordinate exploration work programs.

Work in close collaboration with sub-contractors and project stakeholders

Interpretation of geological data from exploration programs, including diamond drilling, field mapping, surface sampling, etc.

All other tasks related to the various exploration programs as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

A minimum bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Science; Post-graduate degree, an asset.

Minimum 1-5 years’ experience in mineral exploration.

Understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes.

Experience in field mapping and logging of diamond drilling programs.

A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community.

Self-motivated and able to perform and communicate effectively within a dynamic and evolving environment.

Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS, and database management considered an asset.

Registered as a Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) desirable.

Schedule/Contract Terms: 10/4 Day rotation. Note schedule could be subject to change depending on exploration requirements of the company.
