Job Description:

You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction inspection and contract administration projects throughout Yukon and Western Canada. Working autonomously and with others, you will have the opportunities to further develop your construction skills. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of projects for a varied client base including Yukon and First Nation Governments, Y, Municipalities, and private sector clients. You will also participate in the delivery of construction services for land development, municipal infrastructure, and transportation.. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings.
  • Monitoring progress and schedules.
  • Preparing daily & weekly reports.
  • Maintaining projects records and site diaries.
  • Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions.
  • Monitoring of quality control testing.
  • Reviewing on-site quantities.
  • Contract administration.

Job Requirements:

What you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Experience:
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in civil construction inspection and contract administration
  • Experience in a consulting firm environment considered an asset.
Skills:
  • Experience with contract administration and construction inspection principles, practices, and techniques
  • Proven technical skills.
  • Construction management skills are an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
  • Shows close attention to detail and takes pride in your work, both for large and small sized projects.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Committed to client service and production excellence.
  • Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Client liaison.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
