Project Coordinator Job Advertisement

The ECEHR Council is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to increase recruitment to the ELCC workforce and improve retention of qualified early childhood educators. The Council is seeking a dynamic Project Coordinator responsible for developing, planning and overseeing the efforts of ECEHRC to fulfil its mandate by:

  • Establishing a virtual office with a website for engaging with the sector
  • Overseeing all tasks related to two major projects for which the Council has received funding
  • Attracting new recruits by promoting ELCC as a viable career choice
  • Re-attracting those with ECE qualifications who have left the sector
  • Preparing and conducting presentations and holding professional learning sessions, and
  • Proposal writing for future projects 2023-2026 for the ongoing development of the workforce

Key Duties related to Projects

Project #1: Development of a Wage Grid and Costing of a Benefits Package

Project #2: Conduct a Publicity Campaign for Recruitment and Retention

All tasks required to recruit a research company for Project #1 and a marketing company for Project #2 including but not limited to: o Developing a work plan o Developing and distributing a RFP, evaluating submissions, developing a contract o Overseeing and guiding the research/publicity campaign o Managing and preparing all reports to the ECEHRC and to Government o Managing the contract budget and financial reports to ECEHRC and to Government

Requirements for the Position:

Education: College ECE diploma plus advanced education in business management preferred, or an equivalent of education plus relevant experience.

Skills and Experience: Three or more years of related experience

  • Writing and evaluating requests for proposals
  • Overseeing projects and meeting deadlines for deliverables
  • Prioritizing work, developing and conducting work plans
  • Working independently with minimal supervision
  • Handling complex and confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrating excellence in interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Being an articulate and confident public speaker
  • Using a variety of computer software

Dates: Contractual position from May 15, 2022 to March 31, 2023. Extension based on receipt of funding for future projects 2023-2026.
