Within the Climate Change and Adaptation Division of the Ministry of Environment, the Climate Change Branch is responsible for developing policy and regulatory frameworks which reduce greenhouse gas emissions from regulated emitters and other sectors in partnership with industry, the federal government and other stakeholders. By engaging in economic modelling, scientific and legal analysis, and industry and stakeholder consultations the Branch develops cutting-edge solutions to meet the goals of Saskatchewan's Climate Change Strategy.

We are seeking a highly organized, energetic and proactive person to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and to the branch. We provide a fast paced and high volume work environment with diverse job expectations. The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter who demonstrates reliability, flexibility and professionalism. You will be courteous, attentive to detail and capable of meeting new challenges while supporting a team environment and maintaining a positive attitude.

This position has overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the administrative support provided to the branch. In addition to providing reception service, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, formatting and proofreading a variety of documents and correspondence using a variety of software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. You will manage electronic calendars for the Executive Director and senior managers by coordinating and scheduling meetings. On occasion, you may be required to take minutes at meetings and subsequently transcribe the minutes. You will also establish and maintain a filing system, set up conference calls and coordinate travel arrangements. You will use sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required in this position would be obtained through a certificate/diploma in an office or business education program combined with several years of administrative experience in government.
