Established in 1873, Ganong has the distinction of being Canada’s oldest independent family owned and operated chocolate company. To this day, the company continues to manufacture its famous confections in the town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong continues to grow in the fast paced & competitive world of food manufacturing and is currently seeking a Client Relations Manager.

Position Summary:

The Client Relations Manager is responsible for managing existing customer and private label relationships. The candidate would be developing and maintaining new business opportunities that are aligned with the organization’s capabilities and strategic priorities with a focus of fostering strong relationships with existing and new business partners. Understanding a manufacturing environment is key when effectively bridging client needs to internal production demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize existing customer relationships to ensure Ganong is a preferred supplier and partner
  • Work with Senior Manager to generate new business leads; establish and foster new customer relationships with a high level of customer service
  • Initiate and lead New Product Development projects aligned with the needs of our customers and our strategic priorities and capabilities
  • Develop a critical path for creating cost estimates, samples, and quotes to be presented to customers
  • Champion new product initiatives to meet objectives by working with business analysts and internal team
  • Manage all aspects of customer liaising with Ganong including recommendations and monitoring pricing, inventory, trials, quotes, demand forecasts, etc.
  • Research customer brands and proactively propose new product ideas in line with Ganong core competencies
  • Working with Account Support, maintain and ensure valid demand forecasts to provide visibility to manufacturing and to meet high customer service expectations
  • Development of budget assumptions for sales and margin and provide visibility to Sr. Manager and Executive Team as needed
  • Attend regular customer meetings with clients
  • Provide ongoing communication to customers on status of projects, customer requests and supply chain

Skills Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate when presenting clients with a contract/establishing terms
  • Team building and collaboration abilities when working with other departments to develop strategies that benefit clients
  • Strong problem-solving skills to help clients overcome any obstacles and develop solutions that enhance the clients' efficiency and productivity
  • A strong relationship builder who works collaboratively with all channels to ensure a positive client experience through the delivery of unparalleled service

Qualifications/Asset Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary Education in a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years related professional experience
  • Food/beverage industry experience a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple customer accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Proficient computer application skills
  • Valid documentation for travel to USA
