New Job Before- And After-School Care Staff In New Brunswick

Eastgate Academy is a new private school in Moncton that opened in September 2021.The school’s focus is on the healthy balance between intellectual and academic growth and physical and mental well-being. Eastgate Academy is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) and will develop to offer a full International Baccalaureate continuum. The school currently has students in grade 4 to 6, and will expand to offer kindergarten to grade 7 in the 2022-2023 school year.

Eastgate Academy is seeing staff for our before- and after-school child care program. We are looking for individuals who are available from 3:30-5:30pm or 8:00-10:00am at least two days per week during the school year.

Responsibilities

• Supervising students before and after school
• Ensuring students are picked up by a designated adult
• Maintaining an atmosphere of physical and emotional safety for children
• Developing age-appropriate engaging activities for students, including creative, physical and/or outdoor activities
• Ensuring children are following proper hygiene and safety procedures
• Responding to any student or parent needs in a timely manner
• Maintaining accurate attendance records
• Attending to daily set-up and clean-up tasks

Required Qualifications and skills:

• Demonstrated experience working with children ages 4 – 12
• Dedicated attention to the care and safety of child
• Proven ability to work collaboratively
• Capacity to be creative, flexible, and patient
• Strong communication skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail

Preferred Experience and Qualities:

• First Aid certification
• Ability to speak French

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 4-12 per week

Salary: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
