Job Information
Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Territorial Manager, Infection Prevention and Control, the Territorial Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the NTHSSA IPAC Acute Care programs in Stanton and across the Territory. The Territorial IPAC Coordinator actively leads, plans and implements in-depth investigations into patient safety incidents, critical incidents and unusual occurrences involving IPAC.
The Territorial IPAC Coordinator is also responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a comprehensive IPAC program for STH Acute Care programs and services, as well as Territorial-wide programs and services, that include monitoring infections, investigating and monitoring outbreaks, establishing standards of practice and being the subject matter expert for Territorial Acute Care IPAC policies and procedures.
Typically, the above qualifications are attained by:
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a minimum of three years work-related experience in a health or social services discipline.
