Position Description

Applications are invited for a Sessional Instructor position in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for the Winter 2021 term for teaching in 4th -year VM591 course of the DVM program, Northern Rotation. The instruction will be conducted in person at various locations in North West Territories over February 4 - 11, 2022. This teaching assignment is for 0.8 half-course equivalents.

This sessional faculty position is in the following area:

  • Small animal medicine, surgery, theriogenology and clinical skills

Qualifications include a DVM degree, with appropriate expertise in the designated area, as well as licensure in the NWT and experience working in mobile clinics in remote locations. Appropriate expertise may also include an advanced degree, board certification, or equivalent clinical experience in the designated area.

UCVM's DVM program combines a comprehensive general veterinary education with enhanced opportunities in selected areas. The integrated core-elective curriculum combines discipline-based courses with extensive on-campus and off campus practical learning. UCVM uses a distributed veterinary learning community including public and private practice partners to deliver its fourth-year practicum program.
