Service New Brunswick is seeking multiple Senior Solution Strategists to join the Technology Services Division. The SNB Technology Services Division provides technology services to all Government of New Brunswick departments and Regional Health Authorities. With over 700 employees, we form one of the largest IT employers in the province with office locations in most cities and regions.

A client expresses a strategic goal to be more customer centric and to vastly change the experience of the public with obtaining the department's service offerings. How can technology better support the client journey from the initial contact to the provision of services?

A client is at an elevated risk due to technical debt: antiquated, disparate, legacy systems. Upgrades are difficult, integrations are nearly impossible, resources are hard to find. The client also has many lines of business performing similar functions but all with their own flavor and twist. How can technology unite all the business teams and associated systems around the customer?

Some clients are utilizing multiple systems with overlapping functionality that touch the same customers and collect the same data. These organizational silos negatively impact the quality of their customers' experiences. How can these clients adopt a shared platform and processes across their departmental functions to drive efficiencies and produce a better customer journey?

A client procured a new enterprise resource platform to transform how it manages its operational business units and finances. How can the client further advance and modernize its own business processes and also enable other client departments to onboard using the solution?

What will you be doing?

Define new digital business IT solutions for the GNB client transformation to reshape the business and meet client's business requirements and goals.

Drive the IT transformational program of change and lead specific initiatives or projects within the program of change.

Conduct discovery sessions with clients to understand their current IT landscape and challenges, and future objectives and goals.

Ensure execution of technology strategy and/or digital transformation by identifying and resolving technical blockers that arise during strategy planning and implementation and driving technology adoption.

Create mid- to long-term technical and business roadmaps for clients outlining the IT transformation journey and core wins.

Work with the team to design and architect complex technical solution architectures involving on-premises technology and Cloud Solutions (SaaS - Software as a Service, PaaS - Platform as a Service, IaaS - Infrastructure as a Service), or Hybrid Solutions.

Collaborate with other public jurisdictions and private sector organizations to share solution delivery and operations strategies, along with lessons learned.

Estimating effort and timelines for the implementation of proposed solutions

The successful candidate must possess:

A university degree in Computer Science or in another related discipline and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience with exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, and processing environments OR a two (2) year College Diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years related experience with exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, and processing environments.

Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Experience with SaaS, PaaS, IaaS solutions or technologies
Experience with Oracle's Fusion Cloud products
Experience with Salesforce platform
Professional certifications or experience (SAFe, PSM, ISP, COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, Lean, Six Sigma, PMBOK, BABOK, BIZBOK etc.)
Experience with architecture modeling tools
Experience in developing application, information and/or technology architectures
Experience participating in vendor assessments, requirements gathering, project life cycle and process improvement engagements
Cloud implementation expertise or certifications (such as Oracle Cloud, Amazon Web Services AWS, MS Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps Engineer)

Experience in the healthcare sector

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

On occasion, some travel throughout the province may be required.
Some weekday evenings and/or weekend work hours may be required.
