Are you looking for a dynamic and rewarding career? Consider working with the amazing team at Braemore Lodge in Penticton where everyone is valued within our multi-disciplinary team! We have an amazing permanent part time (0.50 FTE) opportunity for a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse.

What will you work on?

Each Nurse is assigned four primary clients who they will be responsible for developing psychosocial rehab goals and treatment goals with, and be the primary contact for that particular resident. This position offers the opportunity to improve quality of life and facilitate rehabilitation with your clients.

As the successful candidate, you will provide nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team; enhance quality of life for the patient and family; consult, confer, and collaborate with other health care providers; demonstrate continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice; maintain and advance your own clinical competence.

Shifts of work are rotating days, evenings, and nights 07:00 to 15:00, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, 23:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this location/unit

Braemore Lodge is a 16 bed licensed facility providing psychosocial rehabilitation for persons with a serious and persistent mental illness. 4 of the beds are Tertiary Specialized Residential.

Braemore Lodge provides services to individuals who are experiencing significant functional impairment and require residential rehabilitation and recovery services. Tertiary services are provided to four designated beds for individuals who have lived in institutions for many years. Sixteen people live at Braemore Lodge, each with their own private room and bathroom facilities. The focus is rehabilitation and recovery to restore or develop each person’s ability to live a meaningful life. Principles of psychosocial rehabilitation are central to an empowerment and client centered approach at Braemore Lodge.

Qualifications


Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
