About Us


Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for infrastructure planning, building and managing government-owned and leased infrastructure across the province. Our ministry works with other ministries to ensure Albertans have the schools, hospitals and other public infrastructure necessary to meet the needs of a growing economy and population.


The Property Management Branch within Alberta Infrastructure manages a large portfolio of buildings and land. The Branch has offices throughout the province providing property management services to more than 200 locations.

Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you are a key member of the project management team. In this senior level administrative role, you will have a chance to be involved in all phases of project and contract management for major projects that enhance asset value in the area, by honing your capability in contract and financial administration services essential to project delivery.


The Project Assistant provides complex administrative services essential to the effective and efficient management of the area project portfolio. The Project Assistant works closely with the project management team and liaises with contractors, consultants, Ministry representatives and other project stakeholders when providing project, contract and financial administrations services, resolving associated issues, and responding to enquiries. This position also assists the Project Managers with the preparation of budgets and financial reports for the project portfolio, which includes monitoring, forecasting and analyzing expenditures, and identifying financial issues associated with the delivery of projects and management of the project portfolio.

Qualifications

High school diploma plus a minimum of three years of related office administration with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications experience is required.


Preference will be given to candidates with one more of the following assets :

  • Experience in contract and financial administration.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role on construction projects.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Business Administration or Accounting.

Salary

$1,861.71 to $2,279.37 biweekly ($48,590 to $59,491 per annum)

Notes

Hours of Work for this position are 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Successful candidates will be required to undergo security screening.


The office is located in the Neil Crawford Center in Southwest Edmonton. Serviced by the South Campus/Fort Edmonton Park LRT station.
