Full Description
Qualicare Homecare of Mississauga is looking for compassionate, caring and reliable individuals to join our family. As a Caregivers/Personal Support Worker (PSW's) you will support our client in Mississauga providing providing the best quality of life for our clients and peace of mind for their families. Work setting is within private residence. This client Schedule is Monday to Friday 10:00am to 5:00 pm.
As a Qualicare employee, you will make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families through compassionate client focused care.Ongoing shifts with the same clients allow our caregivers and clients to build close relationships with one another and increases the effectiveness of the care being provided.
How you will spend your days:
Assistance with personal care, hygiene, and grooming (ADL's)
Light Housekeeping (IADL's vacuuming, laundry, dishes etc.)
Basic Meal Preparation
Medication Reminders
Assisting clients with mobility, ambulation, and transfers
Providing companionship and emotional support
Responding to emergency situations
Complete daily shift reports to communicate with Case Managers
Success in this role:
Personal Support Worker Certificate or Health Care Aide, DSW, Foreign Trained Nurses, Nursing Leadership, Caregiver with Life Experience
Current CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred
Knowledge of J Tube, G Tube, Ostomy care, Catheter care is an asset
Documentation skills
Ability to follow client care plan
Strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service skills

Qualicare will supply all necessary PPE (Mask, gloves, sanitizer-if any additional PPE is required-Qualicare will provide)
