Description:
ATCO Frontec is seeking an Oil Burner Mechanic to join our Resolute Bay Operations in Resolute Bay, NU. The Journeyman Oil Burner Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled journeyman level work which involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of heating systems.

This position is based on an 8 week on, 4 week off work rotation with travel and accommodations included.

Where We Work and Live:
ATCO Frontec has been operating in Resolute Bay since 1970 and have a long history of providing services in the North. The ATCO Frontec team in Resolute Bay provides logistics services for various Northern Government and private sector initiatives, including support and maintenance for the Polar Continental Shelf Program, the Resolute Bay Weather Observation, and the operation, maintenance and distribution of fuel for the hamlet and the Resolute Bay airport. The project team also provides logistics and operational support to initiatives in surrounding communities including Eureka and Grise Fiord. With a wide range of resources and experience, the Resolute Bay team can handle any operation in one of the most hostile climates in Canada.

Responsibilities:
Complete timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects / deficiencies
Perform scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures
Provide input for the planned and scheduled work and assist with the completion of the committed schedule
Assist with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects
Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes

Qualifications:
Journeyman Certified Oil Burner Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility maintenance.
Ability to complete and obtain a Government Security Clearance
General Gas Fitter License
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to read drawings and blueprints
Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial along with a strong commitment to personal and team safety
