New Job Jr. Accountant In Ontario

Vault is a non-bank private mortgage lending company. We have a progressive, friendly work environment and a culture of growth. We are looking for a hard-working Jr. Accounting Officer to join our dynamic team.

This is a hands-on position and the individual will be exposed to various aspects of a private mortgage lending company. You will be responsible for working within a dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cash receipt entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations
• Loan set up in dedicated loan management software
• Internal department queries and problem solving
• Calculate monthly loan payments, verify third party calculations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Account payment histories
• Tax remittances
• Compile and distribute daily management reports
• Compliance reporting
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
• Keep information confidential
• Other accounting duties that management may required

Skills Knowledge & Experience

• Relevant university degree or college diploma combined with two years of work experience
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures and budgeting methods
• Detail orientated, with excellent organizational and follow up skills
• Ability to produce and manage daily management reporting requirements
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Energetic team player with ability to work independently
• Proficient to advanced in Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of Great Plains, QuickBooks and/or Mortgage Office is an asset
• The ideal candidate will show a keen interest in learning and an ongoing desire to improve the timeliness and efficiency of the financial reporting processes.
