Morrison Hershfield's goal is to ensure the development of safe, reliable and sustainable infrastructure to serve private, government, industrial and institutional organization. From concept development through to operations and management, we provide a full range of infrastructure development services. Our main area of practice in our Whitehorse office includes River Engineering, Renewable Energy , Stormwater, Groundwater, Potable Water and Wastewater. We design our projects with quality, safety, efficiency, environment stewardship with future demands in mind.
Prepares straightforward plans, designs, calculations, analyses in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings and other specifications
Prepares/assists in preparing engineering documents, schedules or reports
Conducts preliminary studies required to formulate, determine and evaluate design criteria for engineering work
Carries out field and construction site visits for data collection, engineering assessment, condition assessment and site inspection
Liaises with clients and contractors
Performs other duties associated with working in a professional engineering environment
Currently enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of an Engineering Degree program (Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, report writing and a commitment to teamwork
Familiar with MS Office
Excellent attention to detail, specifically with accuracy in calculations and completeness of data
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (preferred)
Experience working directly with design teams and field investigation programs is an asset
Familiarity with GIS based software and cloud data storage/processing is an asset
