Occupational Therapist II - Mental Health and Addictions
Supportive Employment Services & Mental Health Unit
Corner Brook, NL
Duties: This position, within an interdisciplinary team, is a clinical position with the primary purpose of the planning, implementation, evaluation, co-ordination, and supervision of mental health occupational therapy services. 0.5 FTE of this position is dedicated to team leadership role within an individualized placement and support (IPS) services, including provision of services and assignment of tasks. 0.5 FTE of this position is dedicated to provision of occupational therapy services within an acute-care mental health unit, including delegation of tasks to and supervision of a rehabilitation assistant. Working from a recovery-orientated approach in both roles, clinic duties will include provision of assessment, treatment planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes for clients whose independent functioning is impaired due to mental health and addiction concerns. Interventions would include facilitation of individual and group sessions. This position also provides supervision of student clinical placements. While their primary function of this position is to support operations of regional IPS services and the Mental Health Unit, this position may be involved in assessment, treatment, follow up, and support of individuals with mental health and addictions needs throughout various programs and services.
Required Qualifications: Successful completion of Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from a Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists approved program. Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Occupation Therapists is required. Must be registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Licensing Board prior to beginning employment. Experience in a health-care setting and working with individuals with mental illness would be an asset.
**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
**A valid driver's license and use of private vehicle is required for this position.
Hours of Work: 75 Hours per pay period
0800-1600 Hours; Monday to Friday; Flexible work hours required.
Salary Scale: $78,448.50 to $92,508.00 per Annum.
