The Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety is seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to provide regulatory direction and enforcement of occupational safety within the Saskatchewan mining industry.

The Mines Inspector will enforce the requirements of The Saskatchewan Employment Act - Part III, The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and The Mining Regulations. The successful candidate will carry out targeted interventions and inspections of mining operations, chemical processing facilities, exploration sites and similar operations with the intent of securing the safety and health of workers.

This position will be of particular interest to an individual looking for a challenging role with non-traditional hours, the ability to travel throughout the province and flexibility in how they schedule their hours and days of work.

The knowledge, skills and attributes needed to qualify for this position are typically attained through completion of an undergraduate science degree and professional engineer designation in engineering and experience in mining management, or a relevant combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with engineering backgrounds in mining, geological, mineral processing, or geology.

Please note, a 14% salary supplement is provided for those registered with APEGS as a professional geoscientist.
