This opportunity…

The Manager, Transportation Planning and Programming, in HPWs Transportation Engineering Branch plays a pivotal role in helping people get to where they need to go for work and play. This position has significant influence on successful delivery of the transportation engineering capital program. The manager administers transportation programs, develops intelligent transportation information systems, and builds Internet-based digital libraries. The position manages a group of technical experts and works with dynamic teams both in the office and in the field.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):

  • Degree in business or public administration, civil engineering, or related field;
  • Experience managing financial and human resources;
  • Experience designing and implementing programs;
  • Experience with contracts and procurement.

  • Program and project management experience;
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with others;

  • Knowledge of highway design and safety standards;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Conditions of Employment

  • Yukon Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Job Requirements

  • Travel, working in adverse weather conditions, mandatory use of personal protective equipment, shift work, and working outside of headquarters area for extended periods of time.
