The Ministry of Trade and Export Development (TED) advances economic growth to generate wealth and opportunity in Saskatchewan. TED is seeking two values-based leaders to contribute directly to the success of Saskatchewan’s international network in collaboration with Saskatchewan partners and stakeholders. The International Engagement Manager will be a key resource in Saskatchewan for the international trade and investment offices in China, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Vietnam. The Manager and their team will serve as a key connection point in advancing the network’s trade and investment outcomes.
This position requires you to model a collaborative, “one team” approach, as well as the ability to engage your network to solve complex challenges. To be successful in the role, the candidate will need to navigate new challenges and embrace a fast-paced environment, working directly with a team of diverse and skillful international and Saskatchewan-based professionals. This position will be responsible for managing staff to deliver on key outcomes.
Reporting to the Director, International Engagement, the International Engagement Manager will support the international office network by:
Understanding Saskatchewan’s priority sectors, trade and investment interests;
Understanding of opportunities to advance Saskatchewan's Growth Plan internationally;
Leading projects and advancing strategic initiatives;
Leading their team to create, plan, meet timelines and deliver outcomes;
Implementing and maintaining effective communication channels between the international offices and the Saskatchewan headquarters;
Working across government to advance international priorities; and,
Leading with a strong commitment to our public service culture and values.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required to be successful in this position would be attained through the completion of a graduate level degree and relevant experience in international business development, stakeholder engagement and policy analysis. The ideal candidate should also have knowledge of Saskatchewan and its commercial environment.
To support the needs of our partners around the world, the position requires the ability to work outside of regular office hours.
