The Medical Services Branch is looking for a results-oriented, highly motivated individual with strong personal accountability and professionalism to provide leadership and management to a team of dedicated staff to analyze and process claims for services from health providers (medical, dental, optometric), hospital reciprocal billing, and out-of-country health services.

You will have a personal management style exemplified by engagement, respect and consultation in order to encourage employees to achieve success in their work. This includes having successfully recruited, coached and fostered a team.

Reporting to the Director, Insured Services, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations for more than nine million claims annually, including their adjudication, processing and verification.
  • Lead, manage and/or participate in a variety of projects focused on developing and improving processes, standards and policies to ensure timely and efficient assessment for providers or stakeholder organizations.
  • Oversee the educational activities related to submission of requests for payment for insured services.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Support the implementation of agreements for insured services with the various provider groups.
  • Provide policy support and oversee operations related to reciprocal billing of hospital and medical services.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and networks with service providers, colleagues and employees.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be acquired through a university degree in administration or commerce, and/or related work experience. Experience in operations management would be considered an asset.
