New job Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator in Nova Scotia

The Town of Yarmouth is accepting applications for a full-time permanent Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

In this challenging and exciting role, the incumbent will be required to undertake wastewater treatment facility operational duties related to the safe and efficient operation of the Yarmouth Wastewater Treatment Plant. This includes, but is not limited to, the operation and maintenance of all related mechanical, electrical, HVAC, SCADA, chemical feed systems, pumps, dewatering systems, anaerobic digestors, etc..

The preferred applicant will have completed a two-year technical program related to Water Treatment such as water resources technology, wastewater operator training program, environmental sciences, in addition to a wastewater treatment plant operator certification class I or II.

However, consideration may be given to those applicants who have at least 2 years closely related practical experience as a Power Engineer or Plumber, or are a recent graduate of a recognized program, that includes courses in wastewater treatment, but lacking years of experience and certification.

Salary and benefits as per collective agreement with CUPE 2530.
