POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology or the designate, the Systems Administrator II is responsible for the study, design, development, implementation, and on-going monitoring of the hospital's network infrastructure. The applicant must have expertise in the realm of personal and server class computers and network infrastructure. This individual must possess and maintain expertise in the sphere of PCs, Servers, TCP/IP LANs, WANs, security technologies, Citrix and VMWare. This role provides technical support and advice to all members of the Information Technology department.

The applicant will be expected to have extensive knowledge of MS Windows server operating systems, Windows workstation operating systems, and Active Directory. Extensive knowledge of, Citrix XenApp Server, Vmware ESXi, Storage Array Network, MS SCCM, MS SCOM, Air Watch MDM, MS SQL Server, Symantec EndPoint Protection, Disk Encryption, Virtual Private Networks, Exchange Server, Firewalls, disaster recovery, and all data and IP-based voice communications is required. This individual must also assist in the reliable operation of the Hospitals Telecommunications Phone system. Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMWare certification would be an asset/benefit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and tuning of local and wide area networks.
  • Installs server hardware and software upgrades.
  • Diagnoses server hardware and software issues.
  • Tests and documents standard server and network related workstation configurations.
  • Responsible for network documentation including disaster recovery, maintenance and end-user support of local and wide area networks.
  • Provides support for all in-house users and all remote site locations and evaluates overall systems performance and day-to-day system activity on all workstations and servers.

QUALIFICSTIONS:
  • Community College diploma in Information Technology and/or University degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Seven (7) years working experience in a large Healthcare Organization is required.
  • Experience in a Meditech Client Server environment is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • The IT department provides 7 X 24 supports to its customers. Availability to work on-call on a rotational basis is required. Occasional evening or weekend work is required.
  • Must have hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, standards and be proficient with Meditech MIS, HP/Compaq, Microsoft Operating Systems, and have knowledge of Microsoft networking services.
  • Attention to detail, excellent analytical thinking, strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies are required. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have a solid customer service focus.
