As a member of our Infrastructure group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various infrastructure projects, such as: roadways, highways and interchanges; bridges and overpasses; water and wastewater treatment facilities; transmission lines; general/public transportation including airports, seaports and light rail transit lines (LRTs); and conventional and alternative power generation like wind farms and district energy facilities. You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Design-Build, P3 (Public-Private Partnership), Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).

Reporting to the Estimate Manager, the Senior Estimator is responsible for all aspects of the estimate and is assigned to the more complex and detailed tenders.

Key Responsibilities:
Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attends pre-bid meetings etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Provides complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects.
Provides technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.
Insures all working documents and data are maintained to bask-up estimate figures
Tracks awarded contracts as required (estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring materials, etc.).
Supervises and coordinates estimate support staff on larger projects.
Assists with organizing, coordinating, and training of estimating personnel.
Advises Estimate Manager as to cost and schedule fluctuations, improved material, or other factors affecting construction.
Explores Value Engineering for all applicable projects or situations.
Reviews market labour and equipment rates and advises accordingly.
Completes post-bid analyses on jobs bid, but not received. Tracks bidding success and percentages, and analyses fiscal period bid performance.
Evaluates fee analysis and adjusts by market conditions, past experience.
May assist Estimate Manager in the coordination of overall corporate estimating functions, including systems development and staff training.

Education:
Engineering degree, certificate or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Experience:
10-15 years of experience estimating within the construction industry.
Must have experience working for a large General Contractor
Ability to estimate Water/Wastewater types of projects and contracts is a must.
Strong concrete experiencein Water/Wastewater
Ability to estimate Bridge Projects would be an asset.
InEight and Hard Dollar experience would be beneficial
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior supervision experience is required.
