The* Opportunity*
You would provide an exceptional level of customer service, and administrative support for the Taxation Department. This position is a temporary position for a one year time period

Responsibilities
You would be responsible for front line customer inquiries, maintenance of tax search / certificates, tax account updating from Alberta Land Titles and tax installment payment plan maintenance. This position provides backup for the Property Tax Coordinator, mentors any summer student and assists with the levying and collecting of property taxes for the City of Grande Prairie.

You Bring
You will bring a mature attitude and the ability to work independently, set priorities, meet established deadlines and maintain documentation. You must demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving skills, the ability to enter data as well as scheduling and record-keeping skills.
You will have one of the following: an Office or Business Administration Diploma with an accounting major preferably, one year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirements include a knowledge of accounting, computer programs, computer data entry and retrieval procedures, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Excellent customer service and communications skills and a high degree of accuracy in key boarding, computer data entry/retrieval and filing are necessary. Municipal experience is an asset.

Hours
8:30 to 4:30, Monday to Friday. 35 Hours a week. Employment duration: One Year.
