Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) division and the Department of Health and Wellness. As well, EMC operates TeleHealth 811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health.

EMC delivers a high-quality pre-hospital care program and TeleHealth service to Nova Scotians each and every day. We achieve this through the more than 1,400 employees who work with us including highly-trained paramedics, nurses, medical communication officers and support staff.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Vaccination Scheduler will make contact via phone call and schedule clients requiring a vaccination in Nova Scotia.

As the Vaccination Scheduler, you will be responsible to record demographic information and input into the scheduling system using our phone systems and computer software

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Receive ingoing calls.
  • Determine eligibility for vaccination based on pre-established criteria
  • Book appointments for clients as directed
  • Escalate calls as required by TeleHealth processes

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in accessing and navigating through Outlook
  • Ability to proficiently access and navigate through computer software
  • Demonstrate continuous quality improvement principles by serving callers in a respectful, courteous, confidential and caring manner.
  • Provides service in a manner consistent with EMC Confidentiality policy

Hours of work are between 7 AM to 11 PM, 7 days a week - Looking for Full Time Availablity (37.5 hrs)

Qualifications

Experience and qualifications:

As the successful candidate, you will have completed high school (or equivalent) and have a minimum of one (1) year relevant call centre customer service experience. You will have strong computer skills in basic computer programs such as MS Word, data entry and spreadsheets, as well as strong telecommunication skills. Having the ability to connect and establish rapport through telephone contact is demonstrated through your strong communication and interpersonal skills. Diplomacy and tact when dealing with the public is imperative as is the ability to work as a team player. Bilingualism is an asset.
