About Justice Technology Services (JTS)

JTS is responsible for IT services and support to the Justice Enterprises - Ministry of the Attorney General, Ministry of the Solicitor General and their external Justice partners - that enables transformation into a modern, effective, and efficient justice system.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
  • plan, co-ordinate, and report on technical aspects of testing/QA projects to ensure that applications satisfy corporate directions, I&IT standards, and client/user needs
  • contribute advanced testing/QA advice and expertise such as providing technical input to I&IT committees, management planning, evaluation, and budgeting
  • provide ongoing client service and co-ordination regarding testing/QA
  • participate in/helping clients/users manage change resulting from testing/QA decisions such as explaining, leading, and/or developing and delivering technical education programs for clients and work teams
  • perform related administrative activities such as participating in selecting and negotiating with vendors to develop contracts and Service Level Agreements; managing assigned vendors' performance, alerting management to defaults, providing work status reports, monitor costs, and others
  • perform other duties as assigned


How do I qualify?

Quality Assurance Testing Skills/Experience

You have:
  • experience in test management (Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Execution) defect management (Defect Life Cycle and Triage) and Test Execution Reporting
  • knowledge of software design and development methods, and general technical and functional use of application being tested
  • understanding of the use of the application being tested, and the test tools
  • demonstrated experience testing and implementing web and portal-based applications systems including COTS and SaaS
  • ability to acquire and apply sound knowledge of clients QA needs and business environment, to define scope of work
  • proven experience working as a tester in both waterfall and agile methodology projects such as working as a member of an agile delivery team


Technical Knowledge

  • You have knowledge of QA Testing Methodology such as testing tools, processes and standards, and types of testing: Functional, Integration, System, Regression, User Acceptance, Migration/Conversion.
  • You have an understanding of technology platforms: operating systems, database technologies, application development languages, client desktops, mobile, middleware, Web Services, and Service Oriented Architecture.
  • You have knowledge of industry best practices and testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian JIRA/Confluence and SOAP UI.
  • You have knowledge and understanding of CRM products such as Salesforce and Dynamics 365


Analytical, Problem-Solving and Collaboration Skills

  • You have reasoning, planning, analyzing, and assessing skills for using testing processes to meet defined QA standards.
  • You possess conceptual skills to see the big picture and assist in integrating QA/testing processes and standards.
  • You have the ability to review and analyze client business requirements and other relevant documents for system changes and updates.
  • You can collaborate with teams to identify and address testing/QA problems.
  • You can develop and encourage team work, good morale, and high performance.


Communication (oral and written) Skills

  • You have demonstrated written skills to document Testing artifacts (Test Cases, Scenarios, and others).
  • You can write, explain, and present test related findings in a clear, well-defined, and unambiguous manner.
  • You can establish effective working relationships and provide instruction for less experienced team members.
